The manufacturing of chain fences is called weaving. A metal wire, usually galvanized to reduce corrosion, is pulled along a rotating long and flat blade to form a slightly flat spiral. The spiral continues to rotate through the blades and passes through the previous spiral that is already part of the fence. When the spiral reaches the far end of the fence, it is cut off near the blade. Next, the spiral is flattened and the entire fence moves upwards, preparing for the next cycle.
